SHRM20 CONFERENCE & EXPOSITION CANCELLATION NOTICE

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – May 11, 2020: Regretfully, SHRM must cancel the SHRM 2020 Annual Conference & Exposition as we have recently been informed by the San Diego Convention Center that they will not be able to host us for this event.

This was a difficult decision, but it was based on directives from the state of California, the City of San Diego, and out of a need to keep participants and the community safe.

We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event. We know SHRM’s Annual Conference is the leading HR community event, and the entire global HR community looks forward to it each year. However, we know it is the right decision and we are confident there will be brighter days ahead as the HR community navigates our “new” world of work.

As we turn our attention to the future, we look forward to seeing you at our SHRM 2021 Annual Conference & Expo, June 20-23 in Chicago. It will be a time to reconnect and celebrate the extraordinary measures we will have overcome as leaders reshaping the new world of work.

Registration Transfer

Your SHRM20 conference registration will be automatically transferred to SHRM21 in Chicago. Refund requests must be done by June 9, 2020 by contacting SHRM here. Please Note: All cancellations may take up to 90 days to process.

Hotel Room Transfer

For attendees transferring registration to SHRM21: If you made original SHRM20 hotel reservations through MCI USA, SHRM’s official housing vendor, then your SHRM20 hotel reservation will be automatically cancelled and your deposit will be automatically transferred to a SHRM21 housing reservation. You will receive notification from MCI USA the week of May 18, 2020 with instructions on booking your new hotel accommodations in Chicago and transferring your deposit.

For attendees not transferring registration to SHRM21, but who made SHRM20 hotel reservations through MCI USA: You must contact MCI USA directly by emailing shrm@mcievents.com no later than June 26, 2020 for a full refund. Given the circumstances due to COVID-19, refunds may take up to 90 days to process.

If you made hotel reservations on your own, be sure to contact the hotel directly to cancel.
