[POSTPONED] HR 2020 - NW Oregon Strategic HR Conference

  • Broadway Commons 1300 Broadway St NE Salem, OR United States (map)

**THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED**

Fall date TBD

Transformation is a hot topic in the modern HR space. Thought leaders fill our inboxes with articles about how to innovate our people practices to keep pace with industry changes. We have to balance the competing needs of senior leaders, department managers, customers, our legal advisors, and employees. This can be overwhelming for even the most progressive HR professional. So how do we ensure success in 2020? Focus on Talent!

We can all agree that talent is a critical element of every organization’s competitive advantage. However, we have traditionally designed our performance management process to cover too many bases. We expect the annual review to:

1)  Legitimately quantify individual performance

2)  Provide documentation to mitigate risk

3)  Improve future performance by giving feedback about past performance

4)  Provide criteria for compensation and workforce decisions

5)  Establish goals to drive skill development and process improvements

6)  Force supervisors to adress performance issues

7)  Increase self-awareness

This is crazy! No singular process can deliver on all of these outcomes. Current research affirms that our traditional practices do none of this well and can often do more harm than good. Not only do supervisors dread the process, this approach is very costly. Traditional performance management has actually been proven to have a negative ROI.

In this session we will re-think our approach and introduce a TALENT ELEVATION road map that utilizes evidence-based practices, provides clarity and alignment, rewards collaboration, highlights talent differentials, increases personal accountability, drives a positive HR-ROI, is adaptable to rapidly changing dynamics and truly meet the needs of ALL stakeholders. We will explore the Talent Strategies of thriving organizations and hear about their journeys of transformation.

This program has been preapproved for 7 Strategic Business credits toward your SPHR, PHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP, and SHRM-CP recertification.
